Home Coming 2008

On January 20, 2008, the Blanchard congregation celebrated the completion of the building addition.  300 people were in attendance for the open house and homecoming activities.  Buster Sides taught the adult Bible class, and  Dr. Lynn McMillon of Oklahoma Christian University preached.  Dr.  McMillon had worked with the Blanchard church in the early 1960’s while he was a student at OC.    During the luncheon in the fellowship room, a slideshow was presented with photos of the Blanchard church from 1957 to the present.  Following the luncheon, participants returned to the auditorium for a homecoming program which included facts about the history of the church.  Several long-time members shared memories of the early days of the church.   The theme for the day was “Remembering the past and looking to the future.”    

Family Day    

On March 2nd we held our Family Day.  After morning services we had a brief lunch.  Then at 1:30 we meet in the auditorium for a devotional followed by the Family Meeting.  This is a time we set aside for the deacons to update us on the works they oversee.  We had a good time learning about the current programs and had an opportunity to give some ideas on improvements.
